This month, we’d like to tell you a bit more about the dentists at our practice, who are keen to help keep your smiles happy and healthy. In particular, we’d like to introduce Dr Hanneske Steyn, who joined our practice at the end of October 2019.
Loock Dental is named after the founding associate, Dr Christiaan Loock, who has been practicing dentistry in Cape Town for over 20 years. After qualifying at the University of Pretoria, he spent some time working in The Hague in the Netherlands. After this, he returned to Cape Town, where he has been practicing ever since.
Dr Loock’s special interest is in root canal treatments, and he holds an additional qualification in endodontics. However, he sees himself as an all-round family dentist and a family man. He is married to Jeanette, who is a pharmacist, and they have two beautiful children. He also loves sport, and is very excited about the Rugby World Cup.
The other members of our team are Dr Johan de Ridder and Dr Charl Theart, both of whom have a wealth of experience in family dental care.
Dr De Ridder graduated from Stellenbosch University in 1977 and began private practice in Parow the same year.
He has been married to Maryna for 41 years, and they have been blessed with 4 children and 5 grandchildren. He clearly has plenty of experience with kids both at work and at home.
He used to enjoy squash and bike riding, and these days has a passion for the ancient art of cultivating Bonsai trees.
Dr Theart qualified from Stellenbosch University in 1979, and later obtained an additional diploma in Aesthetic Dentistry.
He loves riding his bicycle and spending time in the great outdoors. He is an honorary game ranger for SAN Parks, which gives him ample opportunity to enjoy this passion while also serving the community.
